You
may have heard “music has healing powers” before. It has been well documented
that music can help one to relax at hectic and stressful environments. Well
what better a place for this to be done than in a hospital.
Musician
Brian Eno, whose music has been played around the world including at the London
Olympics opening ceremony, has taken it upon himself to heal hospital patients with a relaxing
mix of music and light. The installation includes “The Quiet Room” which features
Brian’s music along with three light panels that continuously change colour. The
installation is created for the Montefiore hospital in Hove, East Sussex.
At Imagesound we would
love to see more of these kinds of installations becoming mainstream, even if
it is only for the purpose of relaxation. We could turn stress zones into healing
zones with custom music profiles designed for your buzzing but hectic atmosphere.
