Have you ever heard of Hema? Don’t worry, we don’t expect you to!

It’s a Dutch department store chain known for its low pricing of generic housewares, mostly made by and for the chain itself. When it launched its online store, it did this in a very fun and creative way. The quirky introduction to the online store caught our attention because it’s an exciting way of introducing a new way of shopping to customers.

Rather than getting lost in the black hole of ‘just another online store’, we think Hema has made great use of music and visuals to create an atmosphere in which the combination makes it feel like a celebration of the brand.
