Imagesound has supported the Caffe Nero Acoustic Stage at the Cornbury Festival for 4 years and the talent amazes us every time! We saw some old friends return to the stage this year: great musicians that were featured on the Caffe Nero stage when they were largely unknown, but have since gone on to bigger things.
One of the many cool artists at this year's Cornbury Festival was Benny Tetteh-Lartey, an award winning singer and songwriter, his latest albums including "See the Wonder" and "Living Is". Benny did an acoustic set of mostly his own songs, as well as a version of Bob Marley's 'Is This Love'. Just listen to the cover below to understand just why we were so impressed by his rendition of this classic reggae song. After his set we asked if he had a recording of that song. He said he didn't, but that he'd gladly record one for us. He just happens to have a recording studio in the garden of his house in Edinburgh! WHAT?!
So here's the wonderful result:
It's really nice to know that talented artists like Benny are prepared to record something just for Imagesound, although he might well include it on a future release (and we hope he does so everyone gets a chance to enjoy it!)
Now let's see if we can get Michael Buble to do a version of Highway to Hell...
