We think all retailers are awesome, but the below retailers are doing an exceptionally awesome job at the moment, according to this article
here. Let's take a look at some of our favourites from the list.
Mothercare
Mothercare has more than 500 stores in 48 countries and specialises in maternity wear and products for children, as the name gives away! The lovely bunch even launched a social networking site for parents called Gurgle, that now has 45,000 registered users! It's where the cool mummies and daddies hang out.
Burberry
Who hasn't heard of this luxurious fashion brand? Burberry's chief executive Angela Ahrendts has done a great job upping the brand's image even further and it looks like it's paying off, as well dressed customers all over the world stay loyal to the Burberry, which grew pre-tax profit by 25 per cent to £195.7 million!
Iceland Foods
We love Iceland Foods! Their frozen pizzas and delicious eclairs often come to our rescue. Yum! Being the UK's biggest frozen food retailer with more than 670 stores in the UK, it's no surprise that Iceland has delivered double-digit like-for-like sales growth each quarter for the past three years and a quarter. Founder and chief executive Malcolm Walker says this is thanks to "bloody superb management". We have no doubt that this is true, Walker!
Matalan
Discount clothing and home-wares retailer Matalan has about 190 stores in the UK. Did you know: founder John Hargreaves set up the first store in Preston in 1985 after discovering the out-of-town retail US concept selling a wide range of products at low prices in the Seventies. Gotta love the Seventies. You should see the long queues this store gets during sales, because well...everybody loves Matalan.
Halfords
Car accessories-to-bike retailer Halfords has 433 stores in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and two in the Czech Republic. No wonder this bike heaven is doing great as the average transcaction value is only £20. Many customers are hanging onto their cars longer, pushing sales of accessories and people are increasingly embracing a healthier and greener lifestyle by purchasing more bikes. Roll on, people, roll on!
