Yesterday Twitter launched its newest service. "Now playing: Twitter #music" started their blog post announcing the news. Twitter #music lets people find music in news ways, with Twitter as the discovery engine. It looks at the artists' own Twitter buzz as well as helping you find new music based on who you follow.
As you would expect, we've been playing with the new service, and we like it, a lot! It's an iOS app and only available in six countries, with more to follow and an Android version of the app coming soon too. The way that it allows you to 'surface' new tracks from your followers is a fantastic and new way of creating a truly global, social chart. We can see huge potential here for new music discovery, something we're passionate about here at Imagesound.
Have you tried Twitter #music yet? What are your thoughts? Let us
know and we will write a follow-up on how to get the most out of the app next
week.
