For our second Imagesound Session of 2014 we met up with Mark Morriss ahead of his gig at The Hop in Wakefield.
The track he played for us is taken from 'A Flash Of Darkness' the follow up album to 2008′s 'Memory Muscle' which is to be released by Acid Jazz Records on February 24th, 2014.
I first remember hearing Mark in mid 90's when he was front man of the band The Bluetones, their album 'Expecting To Fly' was, and still is, one of my favourites from the 90's which featured the number 2 hit single 'Slight Return'.
Both The Bluetones and Kula Shaker, for me, were better than either Oasis or Blur so the whole 90's battle of indie Brit Pop passed me by a little.
It was great to get Mark involved in the Imagesound Sessions, and we wish him all the best with his new record, we're excited to get our hands on it.
