YouTube looks set to remove music videos by artists like Adele, Arctic Monkeys and Radiohead due to the independent labels they're signed to refusing to agree terms with the online video site.
Google (YouTube owner) has been attempting to negotiate deals with labels as they look to launch a new subscription music service. YouTube says it's trying to bring 'new revenue streams' to the music industry.
The three big name labels have agreed terms in Universal, Sony and Warner but the independents are holding out.
Some independents say they are being offered "highly unfavourable terms". Radiohead guitarist Ed O'Brien accused Google of trying to "strong-arm" labels into accepting low fees.
Videos that are exclusively licensed by the independent labels suck as acoustic sets or live performances are likely to be taken down.
YouTube's move into the subscription based service follows Apples purchase of Beats and Amazon's similar service for Prime customers.
