Festival season is well under way and the fesitval to top all festivals is upon us once again. You can tell it's time for Glasto when the 2 solid weeks of sunshine we had previous makes way to the usual sunshine and showers forecast us Brits have come to know and love, so be prepared campers looks like you're getting wet!

Now, onto the reason we're posting... the music, we've compiled a day by day list of the guys we reckon are just too good to miss.

Wednesday

Ease your way into the weekend and take a wander through the Green Fields, pop in to Small World Stage for Seize The Day and discover a blast of political folk in a pillowed comfort zone. Remember Glasto is a marathon, not a sprint, so take it easy if you want to see Sunday.

Thursday

Glasto is so vast you need to make sure you're fuelled up each day for the antics that invariably ensue so enjoy plenty of the award winning food served up by incredible vendors across the site . At 9.30pm in the Theatre and Circus field see a brand spanking new show by Mutoid Waste Company, entitled ‘A Kiss on the Apocalypse’. Half-machine half-animal creations will enact a creepy pyrotechnic piece that is sure to be something you won’t forget in a hurry.

Friday

Start the day with Debbie, as Blondie help to open the Other Stage, after a mysterious secret set. If John Newman’s soulful pop isn’t your cup of tea , go over to the Fields of Avalon for Blackbeard’s Tea Party, bringing the fun and bouncy folk rock that Glastonbury does best.

The pirate theme can continue as next door the Avalon Inn often houses salty sailors drinking all the best ale and cider. Mad Professor, Dreadzone and Dub Pistols provide a suitable succession of the best dub and dance, but the famous Mr Scruff offers an eclectic electronic alternative that is really not to be missed.

Lily Allen is sure to turn a few heads, but just after sunny Glaswegians Chrvches will be playing delectable synthpop over on the John Peel stage. Find headliners Arcade Fire more tepid than turn on? Head to Skrillex to see exactly why everyone is still talking about him, but leave just in time to catch Nero’s DJ set.

Saturday

Indie is the genre to beat today as Warpaint and Wolf Alice are tipped to dominant the headlines. Avoid summertime sadness by enjoying Lana Del Ray’s haunting tones, or see Dervish for some gentle but jaunty folk.

Toast to the memory of Rik Mayal by seeing Vy-Vyan, aka Adrian Edmondson, throw some folk punk shapes as part of The Bad Shepherds. Then it’s time to catch a quick look at Goldfrapp and Pixies, before disbelievers are struck dumb by Metallica’s commanding stage presence and rip-roaring metal anthems.

Venturing into Shangri-La and The Common area tonight, with a swell of late night revellers, will definitely feel like walking onto the set of a B-grade horror movie. Avoiding that, try Arcadia, the Park, or the multitude of other areas. Nearly all offer late-night entertainment, such as the Dance Arena’s Sonic Stage featuring a DJ set from Seani B, Toddla T and Robbo Ranx.

Sunday

It may be the last day, but festival favourites Three Daft Monkeys provide a freaky fusion of world, dub and folk that will soothe any hangovers and sore feet; the festival’s 8-mile circumference has most likely taken its toll by now. Public Service Broadcasting are equally weird and wonderful, only this time in their electronic sampling of old propaganda footage.
Dolly Parton is of course a must see, as the country music songstress will no doubt overshadow the moody undertones of The Horrors on the Other stage.

Later, Kasabian, Massive Attack and Disclosure are all headlining their respective stages at the same time, which will prove a hard choice for many. If, after that decision making, you decide to beat the traffic and head back in the early hours we don’t blame you. Enjoy a long hot bath and your own bed, reflecting on five unforgettable nights at the biggest and best festival in the world.
