Last week was a busy one for us here at Imagesound recording two bands in the week the second of which was Balloon Ascents. A five piece alt rockband from Oxford, with influences ranging from Mogwai, Tame Impala and Radiohead to Neil Young and The Beatles.

Playing misty-eyed melancholia over psychedelic math beats, as well as their more grooving J.J. Cale inspired material, they offer a truly unique glimpse into the musical melting pot of Oxford. Having played together since the age of thirteen, the band has recently emerged from their home-builtstudio to much acclaim.
They have had a busy start to 2014, playing five Sofar Sounds sessions, multiple BBC radio plays, interviews & live sessions, going on their first little European Tour as well as appearances at UK festivals.
