We're gearing up for Christmas, I know I said the 'C' word, and retailers are really ramping up their campaigns in time for a fresh new look to tempt customers in for their seasonal shop as we steam roll into winter.
I've noticed over the past couple of weeks as campaigns and looks are changing between brands how the use of music is coming to the fore in more and more, in many cases it feels as though the music has been chosen before any other creative.
Music has to the emotive power to drive, inspire and motivate and some of the music chosen on recent campaigns sits just perfectly in line with brand, customer and experience, after all music is a huge part of a brands make up.
Take M&S and their Autumn fashion collection it looks and sounds fab using Ed Sheeran's 'Sing' which sits perfectly alongside their bright block colours and fun backdrop.
Or how about Argos as they finally drop the blue aliens for a more expressive engaging look and sound using The Heavy and 'How You Like Me Now?' which is the perfect question to ask following a whole new look.
I thought I was watching a Made.com ad at first, this campaign shows the maturity of a brand doing really well right now!
Finally F&F from Tesco show us their hand using TIEKS with 'Sing That Song' showing style coming from the dark, which lets be honest when the clocks go back and we're plunged into darkness is a pretty clever idea, particularly loving the track, sometimes less is more and F&F nail it with this.
