A couple of weeks ago we met up with Lights her band, and the super cute new arrival Rocket at the incredible new store Lambert's Yard in Leeds ahead of her gig at the Brudenell Social Club, part of her sold-out UK tour in support of her latest album 'Little Machines'.
Lights, if you don't already know, is a Canadian electro pop singer/songwriter who started touring Cities in the Great Lakes region in both Canada and the US in 2008, and has since become one of Canada's biggest pop exports.
At 27, Lights is no longer the talented kid who signed her first deal at 15. During the writing and recording of Little Machines, she and husband Beau Bokan were expecting their first child the aforementioned Rocket, born this past February (a star in the making, you heard it here first). Nevertheless, there's a contagious, youthful vitality to the music that goes hand in hand with its themes of nostalgia and yearning to escape to simpler times.
We'd like to wish Lights all the best with the album and for the rest of the tour too, as it's pretty much none stop all the way till May.
